📖Recommend for Grades 9 and up📖
by I.W. Gregorio
For high school senior Kristin, life
wasn't perfect, but it wasn't bad either; until a trip to the doctor’s causes
her to learn that she has a male chromosome and she is intersex. Kristin
doesn't know what to make of her new situation and it doesn't help when the whole school finds out.
Although there are numerous books
out doing featuring members of the LGBTQIA* community the “I” part is rarely
seen in works of fiction. This book is an excellent portrayal of one dealing
with learning they are intersex and how those around them react to learning it
as well. Other than when it comes up, readers may even find themselves
forgetting that Kristin is intersex and just think of her as being a girl, as
that is what she identifies as. Valuable information to the reader about what
it means to be intersex is also included by the author.
